Dr. Kumar earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies in Biology and Dance at Penn State. Her journey in medicine continued with her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Good Samaritan University Hospital in New York. With an approach that merges holistic practices with evidence-based medicine, Dr. Kumar places an emphasis on wellness and patient-led decision making.
Dr. Kumar grew up in Culpeper and Fairfax and in her return to her home state of Virginia, she is a valued member of medical associations and actively engages with both the medical and local community.
Central to Dr. Kumar’s practice is her dedication to supporting women, especially during the transformative times of pregnancy and delivery. She believes in the unique strength of women and takes every opportunity to empower them during this significant phase of life.
Outside of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Kumar is happily married and enjoys yoga, bouldering, and the exploration of culinary arts from various cultures. Her diverse experiences from her times in Manhattan to Philadelphia have enriched her approach to care. At home, her days are brightened by her cat who believes she’s a dog.
